Fireworks!

Grace and I watched fireworks together.
Cassidy was not a fan of the fireworks display.
Papaw, Gabriel, and Candi enjoyed fireworks too.
Most of the crew who stayed for fireworks: Papaw, Gabriel, Grandma Mickey, Uncle Rob, and Grandma.
Thanks for the fireworks, Uncle Rob! They were really cool!
Daddy let Gabriel and Grace stomp on some poppers.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub . . .

three babes in a tub!!!
We decided that the little kids should have baths before we watched fireworks.

Pre-4th Cookout

We had some of the Kendrick family over today for a little cookout so everyone could visit with Uncle Jim and Grandma Mickey. Grace and Cassidy are so cute playing when they get together. In the picture above, Cassidy is letting Grace talk on the phone.

Of course, a game of cards had to be played. Here are Brian, Dad, and Dan.
Uncle Jim gets Grandma up-to-speed on the newest cell phone technology.
Bobby, Bob, and Uncle Denny enjoy the card game.
Uncle Brian and Gabriel wore each other out, as usual.
Cassidy was my girl tonight. I think it made Grace a little jealous because at one point she ran up to me said with her arms out and said, "My Mommy."
Ben, Gabriel, and Grace enjoy some beverages.

Baking Cookies

Yesterday was Grace's turn to be sick. She slept until 9:00 AM when I went in and woke her up. By 9:30 AM, she had vomited, was crying uncontrollably, and asking to go "nightie-night gin" (night-night again). She slept again from 9:30 to 11:30 AM when I had to wake her again. Whew!
In the mean time, Gabriel and Mommy baked a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies. Yummy!

Swim Lessons

Gabriel and Grace both started swim lessons at the YMCA again. Grace's class is in the middle of the day. With me being in the water with her, there is really no way for me to get any pictures during the class.
Gabriel really seemed to enjoy his swim class on Tuesday because his friends Sam and Lucas are in the class with him. Yea!

Funny Quotes

Gabriel and I shared the last donut one evening. I teasingly asked for a bite of his when my was gone. To which Gabriel replied, "I'm not going to share my donut with you, Mommy. But you're still my best friend."
(Awww! Mommy melted.)

Today on the way to Grandma and Papa's house Grace was saying, "Memaw! Memaw!" Gabriel explained to her the following: "Grace, Grandma is at work. Papaw doesn't have a work. He just has a bowling alley."
(For anyone who doesn't know my dad, believe me, this is SO true.)

Mega Blocks

Gabriel was sick Sunday, so we tried to find quiet activities for the kids. The rowdier he got, the harder he'd cough. Daddy came up with a game of building and knocking down towers with Mega Blocks.
Nice bruise on her face, huh? She ran full-tilt into the coffee table. Geez!

Wow! The tower was taller than Grace.

Read Book . . .

Grace has enjoyed reading books lately, and she's developing a preferences for certain books as well.
Her favorite book right now is Mr. Brown Can Moo by Dr. Seuss.
