A Few More Reunion Pictures

Family Reunion Hayride

When we stay at McCormick's Creek, Ann Holdaway always arranges a hayride for Saturday night. The hayride started at 7 PM which is pretty close to Gabriel's bed time. He enjoyed the first half, but during the second half, he was too tired to have any more fun.

Holdaway Family Reunion

We spent a great weekend at the family reunion at McCormick's Creek State Park. It rained all day Friday, but the rest of the weekend was relatively cool and beautiful. Gabriel had tons of fun playing with his cousins Matthew, Andrew, Mikey, Luke, and Anthony. His favorite thing was riding in the yellow carts provided by the park for hauling luggage to and from the bunk houses. Those carts hauled many more kiddos than luggage this weekend!

A Week with Grandma and Papa

While Mommy was in St. Louis and Daddy was in Chicago this past week, Gabriel stayed with Grandma and Papa. They had lots of fun together! One afternoon they went to Lapping Park to swing, slide, and laugh.

What do a one year old and twelve year olds have in common?

Funny Story: Yesterday afternoon we went to Grampy's house to have a fish dinner. Uncle Rob, Bobby, and Ben were there too. The three boys were over by Grampy's front door when all three of them (Gabriel, Bobby, Ben) started to crack up laughing. I said, "Someone must have passed gas. What else would make a one year old and two twelve year olds crack up laughing?" A moment later, Bobby came over and said, "Ben passed some really loud gas, and Gabriel looked behind him to see where it came from!" So now you know what a one year old and twelve years old have in common!

Reading

Gabe likes to read, and he reads to himself. Well . . . that is what it sounds like anyway. He takes the books, one at a time, out of the basket, flips through the pages, and gets another book. It is so cute!

A Carousel that's Just Right!

Tonight we took the kiddo to the Greentree Mall. Mom and Dad had to purchase a few gifts for some upcoming birthdays. Gabriel was so much fun. He waved at everyone, gave a security guard a High 5, and was in a great mood. As we were on our way out, we spotted a little carousel. It had only three little seats, lights, music, and not too much movement. He LOVED it! He laughed the entire time. He held on to the steering wheel and turned it back and forth. The people who were standing around laughed at him. When the ride stopped, and Dan tried to take him off, he cried. Such a simple thing provided so much amusement!

Play Time with Sam

After we went to the pool, Sam came over to our house to play while Alicia taught Jazzercise. Gabriel and Sam had a good time playing blocks, taking turns on the Bounce and Spin Zebra, and eating popsicles. They were so good together. Sam is welcome to come back to our house to play ANY TIME!

A Change in Plans

Gabriel and Mommy had plans today to go to Atlantis Water Park with our friends Sam and Alicia. However, it rained and was cloudy all morning, and when we got to Atlantis, it was closed due to bad weather. So what did we do, you might ask? We went to the Clarksville Aquatic Center! The weather was beautiful and there were only 4 kids, including our two at the entire pool! The boys had the run of the pool, and that they did. They had a good time "owning" the pool.

Another Zoo Picture

Grandma lost the picture out of her keychain from our Cincinnati Zoo trip, so we bought Grandma a new keychain. Here is the picture from Grandma's new keychain.

What a Day!

Two seconds after leaving the water park, this was Gabriel. Out like a light! He was pooped! Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the herpaquarium and the Islands exhibit while he slept. He also went home and took another two hour nap. Mommy has to admit to taking a nap back at home too --- nice!

Glacier Bay Water Park

After our picnic lunch, we went into the Glacier Bay water park. It was a blast! Gabriel loved the sprinklers and running around with the big kids. He would walk under these big water buckets hoping that they would dump on him. This water park was made for him! We can't wait to go back!

The Zoo Carousel

We rode the carousel at the zoo. When Gabriel saw it, he got really excited. When it first started to move, he grinned really big. Then he puckered and two big tears came out of his eyes --- and they were not from the sunscreen. He didn't cry for the entire ride, but he was ready to get off when it stopped. Mom was really surprised at his reaction. He loved the one in Cincinnati.

Louisville Zoo

Gabriel, Mommy, and Daddy went to the zoo today. Gabriel really liked being able to see the zoo from the backpack carrier. It gave him a whole new "perspective" on things. We ate a picnic lunch at the water park while we were there.
