Trick or Treats

Gracie has several different Halloween outfits. Some were handed down from her cousin Maria and others were given to us as baby gifts. Unfortunately, they are all too big for her! Daddy picked this onesie out at Old Navy the week before she was born, so we decided that she should wear it for the evening. It was a bit big, but not too bad. I never would have guessed that we would have a skinny little baby girl.
Bobby and Ben took Gabe trick or treating. They pulled him up the street in the wagon and had him get out and walk up to the houses.

Gabriel gets a glimpse of himself in the mirror in his Halloween costume.

Gabriel was Elmo for Halloween this year. He was a so happy to be dressed as his favorite Sesame Street character.

Daddy's Girls

Gracie and Lucy both shared some cuddle time with Daddy last night. They are his two sweetest girls!

One Week Check-up

We took Grace to the pediatrician yesterday for her one week check-up. She weighed in at 6 lbs. 5 1/2 oz. She has gained 6 1/2 oz. since she was discharged from the hospital --- no skim milk here, Folks! The doctor was so pleased with her weight gain and her overall health that she doesn't have to go back for another check-up next week. He said to come back in a month. Yeah!

Car

Uncle Mark and Aunt Kathie came over last night to see baby Grace. They brought Gabriel a car that makes noises when you shake it, and then it takes off. It was a hit! The kiddo was very entertained by it last night.

Pumpkin

Gabriel's favorite thing right now is pumpkins. He points them out to us everywhere we go, and he is fast to spot them too. Today Daddy bought a pumpkin at the store and carved it for our little boy!

Pretty in Pink

Our little angel took a nap on her tummy this morning. I know that this is against all medical advice and against anything you read about newborn care, but she looked so comfortable that I didn't have the heart to turn her over until I felt like she'd had a good snooze.

First Bath at Home

Gracie had her first bath at home on Saturday night. As you can see, she did not particularly enjoy it.

Visitors

The McAfees came to visit. Gabriel really enjoyed seeing Sam and having a playmate for a little while.

Karney and Dodie came to meet Gracie on Saturday.

Great PaPaw Brown came to visit his newest great granddaughter.

Grace Catherine Ellnor has arrived

Well it was a hell of a night. Denise started contractions at 6 pm while I was on the Belle of Louisville for a work thing. They were 10 minutes apart. After taking a shower and doing her hair we left for the hospital at midnight leaving Grampy in charge of the sleeping Gabe. We get to the hospital and contractions are 5 minutes apart. They proceed through the night between 2- 3 minutes. The nurse only gives Denise the shot to cut the edge of the pain and the doctor had not come in to order an epidural. Needless to say it was a bad night. They had an emergency C-section and they did not monitor denise well. by 6:45 am denise had eaten her pillow and her water broke. At that point the new nurse coming on shift change took charge and Denise was 7 cm and climbing. The doctor almost did not make it to deliver the baby. 4 pushes and grace came into the world at 7:07 am. 6 lbs, 4 oz. 19.5 inches long with a head of black hair.
Denise had the natural child birth she did not want! I was the proudest I have ever been of her. She was amazing to say the least. She is fine now and grace is a beautiful little girl, she looks a lot like gabe.

Pictures will come after I get back home tonight....maybe. Have not been asleep since 5:30 yesterday morning so Gabe and I may go to bed at the same time.

Baby? Maybe?

I've been having regular contractions tonight. They have stayed 10 minutes apart since about 6:00 PM. They still aren't getting any closer together, but they are getting stronger. Is this the real thing? We hope so; we're ready to meet our little girl face to face.

Still Waiting

39 weeks and still waiting for Grace to "grace" us with her presence. The belly feels big and stretched to capacity. We're ready when she is!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Our little boy mimics everything that he sees and hears. Today Daddy laid down on his belly in the floor to play, and Gabriel immediately laid down next to him on his belly too. We've never seen him lay on his belly before. They were very cute!

Hanging with Uncle Ed

Uncle Ed came down from Indy today hoping to get to meet his new niece . . . sorry to disappoint him. While he was here, we had dinner at Grandma and Papa's house. Just before dinner Papa, Uncle Ed, and Daddy took Gabriel to the park. Notice Gabriel wearing Uncle Ed's hat.

Hanging Out with Mommy

Mommy has had Thursday and Friday off of work for Fall Break. Today Gabriel and Mommy spent the day together hanging out. Mommy doesn't feel like she can do much with Gabe by herself. To make the day feel a little bit special, we went to McDonald's for lunch and then came home for an Oreo cookie dessert. It has been a nice day.

TORNADO WARNING

Trick or Treating was short-lived! A quarter mile into the zoo, we started to hear the civil alert sirens and a warning over the loud speakers that we were under a tornado warning. We kept trick or treating like troopers, until a zoo worker funneled all of us into The Outpost saying that a funnel cloud was visible from the parking lot. We hung out there in the men's restroom until we felt like it was safe to head home. A very memorable experience . . . but a little disappointed about the trick or treating. Everyone hoped that hoofing it out of the zoo would help coax Grace along --- doubt it!

Trick or Treat at the Zoo

We went to dinner tonight and trick or treating at the zoo with the Nuxoll family, the Lewis family, and the McAfee family. It was a good time hanging out with friends. The kids looked adorable in their costumes!

Miscellaneous Cute Pics

Someone took this picture of Gabriel at the McAfee's party. It was so cute that I had to share it!

Two weekends ago Gabriel decided not to take a morning nap. He laid in his bed for an hour and jabbered up a storm. He was really well behaved while in bed, but no sleeping happened. As soon as we left home to run some errands, he was out like a light. Daddy held him while he slept, and Mommy took care of some shopping in Target.

Playing with Uncle Brian

We had dinner tonight at Grandma and Papa's house. Uncle Brian joined too. Gabriel decided that Uncle Brian was a great playmate. They wrestled in the grass and chased each other around the shed.

Tuesday with Papa

Papa kept Gabriel last Tuesday while Mommy and Daddy worked. The two of the spent a lot of time playing outside.
