Mommy and Grace

After Gabriel's birthday party this past Sunday, Grace took a little cat nap. At bedtime, she was not the least bit sleepy and wound up. She cooed and laughed. So rather than trying to force her to bed Mommy took advantage of this time to get some one-on-one time with her.
Self portrait --- obviously!

Birthday Gift from McAfee's

The McAfee's gave Gabriel this awesome Play-Doh set for his birthday. It is an octopus that has different tools on it, some lobster scissors, and snake head. It is cool. Gabriel had a great time playing with it this evening. Thanks, Sam!

Gabriel's 2nd Birthday Party

Gabriel had a fun birthday party today with lots of great company. Grandma and Papa came over early to blow up balloons. Uncle Robbie, Bobby, and Ben were here too!Uncle Brian and Erin
Uncle Eddie made the trip from Indianapolis for the party. We missed you Aunt Stacey!Uncle Mark and Aunt Kathie came over. So did Great Gramma.Grampy, David, and Gerri came to visit too.

Karney and Dodie visited too.
We had a yummy lunch of chicken salad sandwiches, barbequed sausages, vegetables, fruit, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and crackers and cheese. Gabriel enjoyed the food as well as the company.
Next Gabriel got to blow out the candle on his birthday cake. He did a good job. All that practice with blowing bubbles has paid off.
Finally came opening gifts . . .

He got an Elmo tent and a tunnel to crawl in from Uncle Robbie, Bobby, and Ben. And a basketball goal from Mommy and Daddy.

Blowing Bubbles

Grace is so funny . . . sometimes she just sits and blows little bubbles out of her mouth!

Birthday Celebration

Gabriel's birthday dinner was a chili dog with cheese on it.
Gabriel opened his gifts from Mommy and Daddy. He got a rug with roads on it and a toy dump truck, a remote control car, and some books.

I'm TWO!

We had a fun family day today getting ready for Gabriel's birthday party tomorrow and celebrating his birthday today!

Groucho Marx?

No . . . It's Daddy wearing silly glasses!
No . . . It's Mommy wearing silly glasses!
No . . . It's just Gabriel wearing silly glasses!

Mommy put Groucho glasses in the treat bags for Gabriel's birthday celebration at Mrs. Staci's house.

Big Boy Seat

It occurred to us the other day that in just a month or two Grace will be eating cereal and starting solid food. In which case, she will need to sit in the high chair. We decided that it was time to move Gabriel to his booster seat at the table. He has done really well with it, and seems to enjoy sitting at the table.

Who's the Fairest of Them All?

Grace likes her new mirror toy. The little mouse goes in circles around the inside of the mirror, it has lights that flash, and it plays music. Anything to help her enjoy tummy time a little better is a good thing.

Daddy Time

The kiddos got to spend some quality time with Daddy after dinner tonight. Daddy and Gabriel were talking to Gabriel and watching TV while Grace talked to the pretty girl in the mirror.
I think Daddy is a little more interested in TV than Gabriel is.
Grace is thinking, "Damn, that girl is CUTE!"

Valentine Gifts

Grandma and Papa came by tonight to bring us all Valentine gifts. The kids got stuffed animals, clothes, and best of all --- balloons. Gabriel ran all over the house toting his Dora balloon behind him.

Snow Days

Mommy was off from school yesterday and today because of the snow. It was a fun two days at home with the kiddos. Gabriel practiced drinking from a big boy cup and did quite well with it.
In the middle of getting out Play-Doh, he noticed that it was snowing again. He sat down in the floor and quietly watched the snow fall for several minutes. It was so sweet!

The kids hanging out together! They are so cute . . . I can't get enough of them!
Gabriel asked Mommy to take "MY picture" . . . meaning that he wanted to have a self-portait.

Bruiser . . . No, Bruised

Gabriel bent over to pick up his lion tonight and hit his head on the edge of a milk crate. He hit hard, and his head immediately turned purple. If you look above his eye on your right, you can see his bruise. Poor Kid!

Teething . . . Already!

Saturday Grace was very fussy. She cried nonstop for quite awhile, and nothing seemed to soothe her. I finally noticed that she was biting her hands so I thought a teething toy might make her feel better. After chewing on the frozen teething toy for less than a minute, she calmed right down. Tonight the same thing happened again. She was crying and crying. I gave her the frozen teething toy, and she calmed down. It seems like she is teething SO early . . . she is just growing up SO fast I can't stand it!

Diego Mittens and Hat

When Grandma found out that Gabriel went to the farm without any gloves or mittens, she decided to fix that situation. She bought Gabriel a Diego hat with matching mittens today. . . along with a few other goodies. Gabriel LOVED the hat and mittens. He kept touching the Diego patch on the hat and saying, "Diego, Go!" When we got home, he didn't want to take the mittens off.
