Edible Play Dough = Mess!

I got a recipe from TV a few weeks ago for edible play dough. The recipe is equal parts milk powder, honey, and peanut butter. I thought that Gabriel and I would make the play dough, play with it a bit, and then have a play dough snack. I don't know if it was just too humid to make the play dough, if my peanut butter was not a good quality, or if the recipe was bogus. However, the play dough was a mess. We couldn't play with it because it was too sticky and any form that we made with the play dough melted. Gabriel helped me mix all of the ingredients. I added flour to see if that would help with the stickiness.

It didn't take long before he realized that it was a yummy snack.

I love how he "Cheeses" for the camera.

Edible play dough was a bust, but it was fun trying the recipe out.

Grace Clapping

Grace clapped her hands today! We were singing If You're Happy And You Know It, and I was clapping her hands for her. When I stopped clapping for her, she clapped by herself. It was so cute!

Sprout Picme

Check out this website. Gabriel has been turned into a cartoon! Be sure to click on the tab that says Video to see the cartoon. This is a really cute website!

38th Division Band

We went to The River Stage tonight in Jeffersonville, ate a picnic on the lawn, and watched our cousin, Johnny Riley, play in the Indiana National Guard 38th Division Band Concert. It was a nice evening outside and a nice concert. Gabriel enjoyed a quesedilla for dinner. He also ate Grandma's pasta alfredo.
Grace laid on the blanket and played with toys while we ate dinner.A dragon fly joined us for a little while during dinner.
Papa and Johnny chatted before the concert began.
Grandma and Gabriel played before the concert started.
Mommy and Gracie played too. Grace was such a silly girl during the concert. She bopped and danced to the music. Here's the whole band. He plays trombone.Johnny is in the center of the picture, wearing glasses.

Cookie Monster

Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner tonight (such a nice change of pace) while Grandma and Papa kept the kids. We brought Gabriel an cookie from the Home Made Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen called a Cookie Monster. It was a chocolate chip cookie with red icing. Let's just say he enjoyed it A LOT.

Missed His Daddy

Dan had to work REALLY late on Monday and Tuesday nights. He came home after the kids had gone to bed. Gabriel really missed his daddy, and was happy to cuddle and play with Daddy this evening.

The Diapered Duo

After playing outside in the baby pool, the kiddos came inside to play. We decided that diapers would do until bath time.
Sweet girl
Silly boy
Grace is fascinated by her big brother. She watches him constantly. She laughs at him all the time. She always wants to be involved in what he's doing.
This "photo shoot" ended with Gabriel sitting in time out for head butting his sister. Look at that mischief look on his face!

This is why . . .

you don't see more pictures of Grace enjoying our baby pool this summer. She hates it. Once her feet touch the water she starts to cry. Tonight the water was the temperature of bath water, but once she was in, she hated it.
I'm a little disappointed that our little girl doesn't enjoy the water more. Hopefully she will get over her dislike of the water before the summer is over.
Once she's out of the water, she's a happy girl again.

Pool Play

We made our first trip to the Clarksville Aquatic Center this afternoon. Sam and Gabriel had so much fun together!

Of course a snack was in order after swimming. Alicia and I took home a couple of tired boys!

Shopping for Wedding Outfit

Grandma and Mommy took the kids out this evening to find clothes for Gabriel to wear in Uncle Eddie and (future) Aunt Stacey's wedding. Gabriel was NOT pleased about wearing pants and a "doctor" shirt. Once he got the entire outfit on, he said, "I look like Daddy."
Since our shopping trip was a little later than we would usually venture out, Grace decided to take a little cat nap in the store. She is so funny with her arm propped on her cup!

TRYING to Get a Good Picture

It is impossible to get a picture where all four kids are looking at the camera. And as you can see, we tried! Anthony, 3 yrs. 4 mo.; Gabriel, 2 yrs. 4 mo.; Grace, 8 mo; Maria, 1 yr. 9 mo.

Gabriel, Anthony, and Maria Playing

It is going to be a hoot in July when we get ALL of the little kids together to play. This is just a taste of the chaos that we can expect! It made me so nervous for Gabriel to be closing the doors as hard as he was. I just knew someone was going to get a finger shut in the door. They were having so much fun though!

Versailles State Park

We went to Versailles State Park this afternoon and met the Paynters for a picnic lunch. It was so nice to see them! When we got to the park, Daddy and Gabriel took a little walk to stretch after the long ride.
Maria and Grace made each other laugh while we ate lunch!
Silly Anthony wouldn't smile for the camera.
These boys are so cute and funny together! Gabriel and Anthony share the same birthday, one year apart.
Running boys!Who are those monkeys in the tree?

"I Can Dress Myself!"

Lunch in Lapping Park

We met Sam and Jackson at Lapping Park today for lunch. It was a fun afternoon for all of us! Sam and Gabriel were making each other laugh at lunch time.
Slide, Sam, slide!
Jackson was a funny climbing boy!
Gabriel and Grace each got to swing!
Thanks, McAfee's and Lewis's, for having lunch and playing with us. It was a great afternoon!
