I bought the kids new coats yesterday. It was a good thing, because it was COLD this morning! Here is Gabe in his awesome new coat. It's a little big, but with any luck, he will be wearing it again next year.

Will Walk for Cake
The other day Dan swore that Grace took two steps on her own; however, my rule is "If Mommy didn't see it, it didn't happen." It's not that I don't believe him, I just really want to see it for myself. Well tonight I did! I had some of her birthday cake on a plate. Our little girl took FOUR steps to get to that cake! First Birthday Party
Grace's birthday party was yesterday. It was a fun time, particularly for the kids.
Uncle Robbie and Grace watched for party guests to arrive. Here is a picture of the babies at the party. They are all within three months of each other in age. In the back is Cassidy. Landon is in the blue chair. Abby is standing in front, and Grace is in the lavender chair. The chairs were a birthday gift from Aunt Linda and John.
We ate some yummy food: fried chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, and biscuits.
Grace enjoyed her birthday cake. She had much more fun with it at her party than she did while having her pictures taken at Click.
I love this picture because Grampy was eating the cake the Grace was flinging on the floor. He kept saying, "Mmmm, this is good cake!" Grace didn't mind sharing.
After cake Grace HAD to have a bath. She ate chunks of cake that floated in the bath water while I bathed her! Haha!
After Grace was cleaned up, she opened her gifts. She got lots of fun things for her and Gabriel to fight over.

Ben, Grace and Dodie enjoyed some conversation.
"Mom, why do you keep putting this d@%* thing on my head?"
Landon enjoyed one of Grace's birthday gifts.

Eating an Apple
Happy Birthday, Grace!
We had a pretty uneventful first birthday for Grace today. I sang Happy Birthday to Grace to wake her up this morning. Then we went downstairs and opened the gift that Uncle Ed and Aunt Stacey sent. We took cupcakes to Staci's house. Staci said that Grace was very excited about them, and all of the kids enjoyed them. Grampy came over for dinner tonight. After dinner Gabriel and Grace played like any other night. We took baths a little early and had the kids in bed by 8. The party is tomorrow!

All I Want for My First Birthday . . .
Is my first tooth!!!!!!!!!
Grace's first tooth broke through today! That was the cause of her fever, runny nose, and diarrhea that started Tuesday.
Happy Birthday, Grace! You get a tooth!

Pumpkin Carving
Daddy carved a pumpkin for Gabriel Tuesday night. The original idea was for Gabriel to help, but the inside of the pumpkin was rotted. To keep Gabriel from getting sick from allergies, Daddy did all of the work.Gabriel colored on the newspaper while Daddy carved.

Have a Good Day, Mommy!
Trick or Treat at the Zoo
We went with the Hoyland's Sunday evening to trick or treat at the zoo. Fun was had by all! Here are the two girls as we wait to get in the gate. Luckily, the line moved fairly quickly, considering there were about a million people in line. The Jack-O-Lantern (aka Grace) and the dragon (aka Gabriel) posed for pictures in the pumpkins. These kids got to trick or treat in style!
Fred Flintstone let Gabriel hold his club while posing for a picture.
Of course, we had to take Gabriel's picture by Elmo!
No trip to the zoo is complete without a ride on the carousel. This particular evening the carousel was haunted, so it ran backwards. What they say about M&M's is true . . . they DO melt in your mouth! See the blue M&M seeping from the side of Grace's mouth. Mmmmmm!
The kids and I rode on the train with the Hoylands. It was a fast ride! There was NO WAY to get all three kids to look at the camera at the same time. It was pretty funny trying though! This was about the best I could do.

Birthday Party
We went to the McAfee's house last night for Daniel's 30th birthday party. Gabriel thinks that the McAfee's house is like Disneyland. They have so many cool toys that Gabriel loves to play with. I think he'd like to move in.Gabriel and Sam enjoy some chips. What's a party without chips?
These two cuties posed for a picture on the back of one of Sam's riding toys.
It looks like Grace is thinking, "Whatever, Dad."
The adult boys were playing Rock Band. Gabriel enjoyed watching the show.
Then came trouble . . . Gabriel and Sam decided to sing too. Obviously, Sam didn't want Gabriel to be the lead singer.Gabriel gave the mike over to Sam.When it was Gabriel's turn to sing with the microphone, he was so cute. He danced and grinned. I don't think he actually sang anything though.Sam decided that even if he did get the mike, he would certainly be the star of the photographs. You go, Sam! Rock on!
