You do not choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them. -Desmond Tutu

We're Ready, Easter Bunny!
We were ready for the Easter bunny! The kids set out their Easter baskets. We also set out a plate with some carrots for the Easter bunny. The kids also wrote little notes thanking the Easter bunny for the goodies.
Dying Eggs
Saturday evening before Easter, we got ready for the Easter bunny's visit by dying our Easter eggs.
Grace decorated her eggs with a wax stick before putting them in the dye.
There's is my good looking boy!
We had a utensil for taking the eggs in and out of the dye.
Grace preferred to use her hands though.
We had two dozen beautifully colored Easter eggs!

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt
The kids had a ball running around the field next to the house and collecting their Easter eggs.
The goal was for every child to be able to fill their basket with eggs.
Here are all of the kiddos with their buckets of loot.
The next step was opening the eggs to see what was inside.
There were Easter eggs for as far as the eye could see.
Vada was more interested in eating the candy than opening the eggs.
I'm sure Jake ate his share of candy too.
It was so funny hearing the kids announce what they found in their eggs.
Grace and Landon compare Easter egg loot.
Preston and Blaise opened their loot too.
Of course, the U of L game was playing while the kids opened their eggs.
I love the chaos!
Everyone put their eggs back into the bucket so they can be refilled next year. I think that's a sign that everyone had fun and would like to do it again.
These cute girls sitting in the egg bucket were so funny!
Get ready, Everyone! This may become a tradition!

Lil Travelers
Dan and I found kids suitcases on sale at Kohl's several weeks ago. I'd been shopping for them on-line for a while, so when I found them on sale, I knew I'd found a deal. The kids are so excited to have their own suitcases to use to go camping this summer. Not long after they got their suitcases, Grace called Grandma and Papaw and asked to spend the night so she could pack her suitcase. You know that silly girl LOVES to pack!
Daycare Easter Egg Hunt
On Good Friday the kids wanted to go to daycare for their Easter egg hunt. Grace hit pay dirt right away. There was a group of eggs on the floor in the shape of a heart. She got every one of them and filled half of her Easter basket immediately.
I was trying to take pictures of her as she hunted her eggs, but she was a blur as she ran after Easter eggs.
Look at all of the loot!
These are her friends Anabelle and Abi. All three of these girls are headed off to kindergarten in the Fall.
Gabriel's Easter egg hunt was upstairs. It was over before I was able to get up the stairs to take any pictures.

Say It Ain't So!
Grace's preschool class is preparing for preschool graduation. That means that kindergarten is just around the corner. I'm not ready!
Uncle Robbie's Birthday
The Monday of Spring Break we met Grampy, Barbara, Uncle Rob, Carly, Robbie, and Riley for bowling. Grampy bowled for the first time in twenty years . . . or so he said.
We put some money in the jukebox, and Grace and Riley boogied.
We had a ton of fun, despite what Gabriel's face shows here.
Robbie is one competitive kid. Gabriel struggled the first game to keep up with him.
During the second game, Gabriel found his groove.
He won the second game, beating all of the kids!
At the end of the second game, cookie cake was served to celebrate Uncle Rob's birthday.
Happy Birthday, Uncle Rob! Bowling was a great idea!

Popcorn and a Movie
Grace has been doing this odd thing lately where she turns her head a little to the side to watch t.v. It's like she is pointing her ear toward the t.v. and then watching t.v. out of the corner of her eye. I wonder if her ear tubes are stopped up and making it difficult for her to hear.
We've asked her several times if she can hear, and we prompt her to turn her head and look at t.v. the right way. I'm glad she'll be going back to Dr. K in a few weeks to have her tubes checked.
