Ridin' in Style

Gabriel has outgrown his car seat/infant carrier so now he has a "big boy" car seat. He loves how much room he has to stretch out.

Mommy brought Gabriel a new outfit from Reno. He is stylin' in this outfit! He was liking the sunglasses.

Eureka!

He is starting to figure out his exersaucer. He LOVES spinning the bead ball on his tail fin.

Chillin'

All is not hard work and training. Sometimes he just has to kick back and chill with dad.

Olympic training

Gabe has advanced in his training. He is now working on the gym rings.

Crazy Days!

With Denise in Reno for the week Gabe has begun intense meditaion. This yoga move is called the dead cockroach.

On a side note, he has also decided to take it easy on his old paw. He slept straight through the night last night!!!! 10 HOURS STRAIGHT! I jumped out of bed at 4 AM thinking he was dead, and I had not heard him...nope just snoozing.

A Little Trick!

Let's face it. . . as you can see from previous posts, Gabriel hates his cereal. When he isn't spitting it out, he is crying and refusing to open his mouth. Tonight Mommy discovered a trick! We mix his rice cereal with a little applesauce and thin it with breast milk. As soon as he got past the new texture and the fact that it was cold, rather than warm, he could not get enough. He finished all of his cereal with no fussing! Success!

Napping

Gabriel fell asleep while kicking his feet. His foot is propped up on the Boppy pillow, and he is cuddling with his blanket.

Froggy

Gabriel likes to lay in the floor and play with his toys. Today he had a froggy toy whose head lifts up to show a little mirror. See the concentration on his little face!

No Thank You!

I think that the face says it all! Gabriel was not in the mood for kisses.

Hanging out in PJ's

Sometimes we just hang out in our PJ's and play!

Play Date

Gabriel and his friend, Sam, enjoyed a little playtime today. It's nice that they enjoy the same toys right now. Sam is six weeks older than Gabriel.

High Chair

Gabriel is not completely happy about eating cereal. It's a lot of work and a slower process than a bottle or Mommy. He gets a little frustrated about the "cereal thing" when he's hungry. This was his first time sitting in his high chair to eat.

Four Month Well Baby Exam

Gabriel went to the pediatrician today. He weighs 20.8 lbs. He is 26 1/2 inches long. His head circumference is 17 inches. He is in the 92nd percentile for weight gain right now. Dr. Roberts was very impressed that a breast fed baby could be gaining weight so well. She gave us the option of starting him on solid food or waiting until 6 months. We decided to do cereal until he is 6 months.

With Gabriel's wonderful weight gain comes a down side too. The child is outgrowing everything! He is beginning to outgrow his 6 to 9 month clothes. He is close to outgrowing his car seat/infant carrier. He is also outgrowing his size 3 diapers. We are going broke trying to keep the child clothed!

First Cereal

Gabriel had his first cereal today. He was not sure what to think of it. He did well with swallowing at first, then decided that it was more fun to let it run out of his mouth.

Cell Phone Talking

Gabriel has the right idea. . . the telephone goes up to your mouth, but just not IN it.

Mirror

Gabriel thinks that the baby in the mirror is quite funny and good looking!

Sitting

Gabriel loves to sit in his Baby Bumbo seat. He also thinks that everything must go into his mouth -- notice his mouth going toward his toy.

Hooters

Gabriel, Papa, and Daddy had a boys' afternoon out at Hooters. Look at our little "Chick Magnet!"

Churchill Downs

Gabriel enjoyed a day at the races with great grandma, Uncle Ed, Uncle Brian, Grandma, Papa, and cousins Wayne and Candi. Unfortunately the only thing he won was an "Eat like a horse" bib.

Wayne and Candi's Wedding

Gabriel had a great time at his cousin Wayne's wedding. He got to see his aunts (seen here with his Aunt Linda, mother of the groom), uncles, and his great grandma! What a fun day for everyone!

Twelve Weeks Old

These are a few of Gabriel's first portraits. He was twelve weeks old when they were taken. Isn't he awesome?

Great Grandma's Quilt

Gabriel's greatgrandma Mickey made this beautiful quilt for him. It has two cats and two dogs on it, and each of them make squeaky noises. Gabriel likes to hold the cats' tails in his hands.

Exersaucering

Now that Gabriel is holding his head up well on his own, he can play in his exersaucer. The exersaucer looks like a race car. He thought that the race car was very funny. We saw lots of smiles and some very pensive looks. The funniest thing is that he can only touch the base of the exersaucer with one foot at a time. It won't be long before the exersaucer is a perfect fit for him.

Sitting Up

Gabriel loves sitting up like a big boy now. He does pretty well on his own, but needs some support still. Daddy taught him how to sit up in his Pack N Play. The first thing he did was chew on the side. Silly Boy!
