Jeff Fest

We went to downtown Jeffersonville this morning for a little festival for families called Jeff Fest. All of the activities were free; we just paid for food and drinks. Gabriel rode a pony for the first time. He looked a little intimidated, but he liked it.

"Ride'em, Cowboy!"
Then Mommy and Gabiel went through the Purple People Eater! We had to do lots of climbing to get through it. . . . and once we were in, there was no turning back!
The climbing wall was a challenge, but it was fun!We were so proud when we finished the Purple People Eater! And who could go to a festival without getting a hot dog???

Genes

My dad found this picture the other day. The little girl is my mom (Dan's mom). Can you see the resemblance between her and Grace?

Grace Crawling

Grace has started to crawl this weekend. She pulls with her arms and pushes with her feet and knees. It resembles a rough army man crawl. She will only crawl a very short distance; however, she is certainly on the move. Notice at the end of the video that Gabriel takes a toy away from her. This is a scene that occurs at our house a dozen times a day.

Hair Barette

Grace is wearing her first hair barette.

CRAZY Boy!

Gabriel had so much fun playing in his pool last night. He rolled around and splashed in the water. He laughed so hard at himself!

Baking a Cake

Gabriel helped Mommy bake a cake this morning. We used a butter cake mix to make a banana cake. We'll let you know how it turns out!

Fire Truck

Clarksville firemen came through our neighborhood last night collecting money for Crusade for Children. We heard their sirens as they made their way through the neighborhood, and it seemed like it was taking them forever to make their way to us. Our house is typically the LAST house in the neighborhood that they come to. Instead of waiting for them, we decided to take a walk and find them.We found the fire truck at the opposite end of our street from our house. It was a nice little walk for two-year-old legs. Gabriel waited patiently and waved until the truck stopped for us.
Gabriel put the money in the bucket one quarter at a time. The guy collecting was very patient with him.
A fireman got out of the truck and let Gabriel stand inside the truck. He was a little excited, but a little scared too.
We walked back home and waited in our yard for them to come past our house. They blew their horn and turned on the sirens all the way down the street for Gabriel. The noise scared him a little. I didn't mind because it meant that he wanted me to hold him. This was the view we had of the fire truck as it came down the street.

Holy Cow . . . Green Laundry!!!!!!

Somehow green crayons . . . yes, plural . . . crayons ended up in a load of laundry tonight. They turned the ENTIRE load green. There is green waxiness caked on to the inside of our dryer. Three outfits that I bought for Gabriel TODAY have a lovely :( green splotchiness all over them. I am sick and amused at the same time. What to do?!?!?!

Potty Training --- Day 1

Today was the first day of full-out potty training. It is exhausting for both me and Gabriel. I think he kind of enjoyed it this morning, but by this evening he had had enough. He had one accident before his nap. He had three after Dan got home at 5:30. After the third one, I was done too. He took a bath, put on pj's, and went to bed with a diaper on. Whew! I need to rest up for tomorrow . . . Day 2.

MORE Outside Fun

Gabriel, Grace, and Mommy had fun playing outside today. We bought a new pool, a new swing for Grace, and a new bubble bucket.

Outside Fun

Grandma and Papa came over last night. We grilled some chicken while Gabriel played in his pool and in the hose. He had a ball . . . we had a ball watching him too.
Now it's a water slide!
Daddy and Papa took turns spraying Gabriel with the hose. He ran from the spray, but we know he liked it.
Chillin' in his pool with the beach ball.
Pretty Girl!

Bubbles

While Gabriel was taking his nap, Mommy, Daddy, and Grace enjoyed some bubbles!

Grace made some bubbles of her own!
"Cheese, Daddy!"

Big Boy Underwear!

Last night after Gabriel's bath, I showed him his "big boy underwear" that I have planned for him to wear next week while I'm off work with the kids. He was adamant that, NO, he wanted to wear his diaper. Tonight after his bath, I went to put on his diaper, and he insisted that he wear his big boy underwear. Yea! So . . . we put on underwear.
His big boy underwear have adorable little dinosaurs on the back.
Knowing that being dry all night has only happened once (last night!), we put on a pull-up overtop of the underwear to catch pee-pees. He liked the idea of wearing pull-ups too!
Potty training is just around the corner!

Daddy and Gabriel Playing Ball

Gabriel laid across Grandma's excerise ball last night. Daddy would bounce him up and down and then let him roll of the side of it. Gabriel had a blast!

Grace Reading Catalog

Grace laid on the couch at Grandma and Papa's house and read (ate) a catalog.
Grandma said that if she ate the catalog, then she wouldn't be able to buy from it.
We did take the catalog away and gave her a toy. The catalog may not be the best thing to teeth on.

Posing

Gabriel and Grace posed together for some pictures. It is so awesome that Grace is sitting up on her own now!

Graduation Party

We went to Cousin Gus's graduation party this afternoon. It was a great party! Gabriel played with Kiegan --- it is Kiegan's 2nd Birthday today! Grace was passed around and held by everyone.
Congratulations, Gus, now a St. X alumni!
