Ho! Ho! Ho!

We had a super-fun evening last night with friends and family. It started with Cassidy coming over. Grace gave Cassidy her Christmas gift as soon as we finished eating.
It's a Jessie doll from Toy Story! Grace was so excited to give this to Cassidy.
Kids love to play with other kids' toys. Cassidy was so eager to play with all of the toys in the basement. She barely stopped playing all night.
The girls decided to play dress up. Grace dressed as Cinderella. This was her cute pose for a picture.
Gabriel is just goofy in photographs lately!
Cassidy wanted to dress like a rock star. I think she certainly looks the part.
Then Grace had a streak of jealousy and wanted to be a rock star too. I think the glasses make the outfit. (This is photography by Gabriel, by the way. Good job, Buddy!)
Here are our four cuties. They were singing Christmas carols, led by Abby.
The next thing we knew, Santa was coming down the stairs!
Gabriel told Santa that he wanted Radiator Springs Cars.
Abby was not shy to sit with Santa and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Unfortunately, Cassidy and Grace would not get close to Santa.
Santa gave Grace a Princess Pea wand from the show Super Why!
Papaw helped Gabriel and Grace open their gifts.
Santa read the kids the story The Night Before Christmas before he left.
Santa brought Abby a princess fishing game. It was a big hit with all of the kids.
After we watched some Christmas movies, Abby and Grace exchanged gifts. Grace gave Abby some Disney puzzles.
Abby gave Grace a princess castle. Do you see a theme with these girls?
Grace was checking out her loot.
Then the kids played another round of princess fishing.
The Hoylands gave Gabriel and RC car. He LOVES it!
Missy and I exchanged gifts. Abby helped her mommy open her gift.
Missy put lip glosses on the outside of Grace's package. She was kind enough to share her lip gloss with me.
Abby is such an actress! She pretended to be asleep in her daddy's lap. She looks absolutely angelic, doesn't she?
I don't think Missy and I have had our picture taken with our girls since I was in the hospital right after having Grace. They are beautiful girls! I am really blessed to have such a wonderful best friend.

Thank you to our friends and family who joined us last night for a fun and laid back evening.

Rocking

Grace has not been feeling 100% lately. Her ear infection has not been clearing up on the antibiotics the doctor prescribed, so she has been coming home from Staci's house really tired and quieter than usual. Tuesday night Dan had Christmas music playing on the CD player. When I checked on her, she was just rocking herself quietly in the chair. That is NOT like her at all, but it was so sweet to watch.

Reading to Her Baby

Daddy checked on the kids while they played in the basement Wednesday night and saw Grace reading a book to her baby.
Grace told me that she was reading to her baby to get her to go to sleep. How sweet

Gingerbread Train

So the kids and I decided to make a Gingerbread Train Saturday evening. Gabriel was a big helper.
Here are the pieces of the train in place.
Gabriel piped on the white icing that would hold the decorative candy.Grace was busy eating a candy cane.
We did a good job of using the candy as decorations and not eating it.
Grace wanted a bite of the finished product. (Just kidding . . . her belly hurt Saturday night so she wasn't really that enthusiastic about the gingerbread train. She was a good sport for the picture though.)
She is such a pretty little girl. I just love her to death!
Looks just like the box, huh? Haha! Apparently, our train had some structural problems.
My little photo bomber was at it again. He is such a nut!

Letters from Santa

Gabriel and Grace received letters in the mail yesterday from the North Pole.
Mommy neglects to go to the mailbox, and since Daddy wasn't home, we didn't get them until this afternoon.
Grandma read Gabriel's letter to him. Guess what, Sam and Jackson! Santa's coming to your house too!

Papaw read Grace's letter to her.

He told her to be extra good between now and Christmas.
How exciting!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Brian!

We celebrated Uncle Brian's birthday tonight at Grandma and Papaw's house. There is always plenty of rough-housing when we hang out with Uncle Brian and Papaw.
We made a movie on Grandma and Papaw's computer to show everyone. Funny stuff!

Erin has been hoping that Uncle Brian would get a pull-up bar for his birthday or Christmas!

My favorite boy and me

Grace was a big helper when it came to opening gifts. She's practicing for the big day coming up.
Happy Birthday, Uncle Brian!

Gabriel was picking on an under-the-weather Uncle Brian, so Brian put an end to it.

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like . . .

Easter?!?!? The kids wanted to do a craft this afternoon, and they chose to decorate Easter eggs. Whatever!!!
Here are Gabriel's beautiful creations.
