Our annual trip to West Virginia is becoming one of my FAVORITE events of our entire year! I love the beautiful Fall colors in the mountains. I love spending a laidback weekend with my family. I love being surrounded by quiet nature.
It was raining slightly on Thursday morning, but the kids still wanted to get out and ride their bikes.
This tree outside our cabin was a great climbing tree. Dan had to try it out.
The he put these two little monkeys in the tree.
I couldn't be left out. I had to join the tree climbing fun too.
We ate lunch at the Hinton, West Virginia DQ. The back side of the restaurant is all windows, and there is a beautiful view of the New River. There was a bald eagle flying over the river right in front of it. I know you can't tell in the picture, but it was one of the most awe-inspiring sites ever.
There is a kids play area in this DQ too, and Gabriel checked it out.
Back at the cabin Dan and I did a self portrait. I was sportin' a side pony for the first time.
The Tomlin family posed for a pic in their Tomlin University hoodies.
Here is the whole group, except Diana and Bianca who were the photographers. The group includes one Grandma Mickey, 4 aunts, 1 uncle, 8 cousins (grandchildren), 9 great grandchildren, and lots of significant others and guests.
Cassidy slept over in our cabin with Grace Thursday night. I hope, and predict, that these sleepovers will become a West Virginia tradition. It's a tradition that I will welcome. I'm so glad these girls enjoy each other so much!
