Dr. Seuss' Birthday Party
We went to the Jeffersonville Public Library last night for a Dr. Seuss birthday celebration. The kids saw a puppet show performed by local high school students.
Guest readers were stationed around the children's section of the library. Each reader was reading a Dr. Seuss book.
Several high school students dressed as the Cat in the Hat roamed the library greeting the kids. Grace found this particular Cat in the Hat intriguing. As the girl passed us, Grace stared SO hard at her. Then when I asked her if I could take her picture with Grace, I could hardly get Grace to look at the camera because she was so in awe of this girl dressed as the Cat in the Hat.
A journalist from The Courier-Journal stopped Dan and Gabriel and interviewed them while Gabriel ate birthday cake. She asked Gabriel several questions, and he answered them like such a big boy. He told her about the puppet play and about the book that they heard upstairs.
While Gabriel was being interviewed, Grace ate her piece of birthday cake.
Finally, the kids got to choose a book to take home, and Gabriel signed his name to the Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss banner.
It was a very fun evening, and the best part was . . . all of the activities were FREE!

How fun! Why didn't anyone do stuff like that when WE were little?! BTW-I love Grace's little grin when she's beside the 'Cat in the Hat'!
I took my nephews and niece to this last year and it was adorable. ?Kade was sick this year and I hated to miss it. Glad to hear you had such a great time!
