I totally stole this from Jill's blog, and I had seen it in a parenting magazine recently. For our special Halloween dinner, I made the kids open-face pizza burgers. They thought it was pretty cool, but they were much too excited about trick or treating to eat much dinner.
Our first stop was Grampy and Barbara's house. From there we walked to Great Gramma's house. Cousin Robin was visiting Great Gramma with Vada.
Here are our little trick or treaters: Gabriel, Vada, and Grace. Gabriel and Grace are ga-ga for Vada.
Grampy, Grace, and Vada
We went to Grandma and Papaw's neighborhood to trick or treat. The kids RAN from one house to another for the first block. They got a little tired after that and walked the rest of the time.
We ran into one of preschool teachers at Grace's preschool. Her daughter's costume was nearly identical to Grace's, but she was SuperGirl.
I was very proud of Gabriel while trick or treating. He said "Thank You" at every house without having to be reminded. He usually said "Trick or treat" too, but at some houses the people just dropped the candy in his bag so quickly, he didn't get time.
Grace was finished trick or treating after about a block and a half. She rode in the wagon the rest of the way and really didn't care if she got anymore candy or not. They were both cold and tired by 8 o'clock, and we headed back to inspect their loot.
