Memorial Weekend we camped at Patoka Lake with the McAfee's, Gettlefinger's, Lewis', and Loi's. The kids always have a ball when they get together!
John and Jan Loi fixed a wonderful breakfast Saturday morning of pancakes, sausage, grits, and coffee cake.
The kids got to prepare their own pancakes with berries, gummy bears, chocolate chips, etc.
Gabriel loves riding his bicycle. So as soon as breakfast was over, he hit the road. I made a comment to him after a few laps around the camping area that he didn't need his training wheels anymore because they were hardly touching the ground as he rode. He said, "Nah. I'm not ready." A few minutes later, here come Gabriel and Daddy, and Daddy was carrying the bike. One of his training wheels had fallen off!
After a few tips from Daddy about how to keep his balance, Gabriel took off! He rode like a champ!
While Gabriel and Daddy were practicing with the bicycle, Mackenzie started a game of soccer with the rest of the kids.
Gabriel got a little discouraged with the bicycle and decided the 4-wheeler was safer idea.
Daniel rigged up the 4-wheeler so it would pull the wagon. Ha!
Once the weather started to get warmer, the kids started a water fight. I love this picture of Jackson and Grace. You can really see how serious they were about their water fight and how much fun they were having.
Having campsites right across the road from the spicket was a really convenient for these water fighters.
Gabriel got a hold of one of the McAfee's super squirt guns.
Sam was a fierce little competitor.
Sam and Gabriel reloaded their guns at the water spicket across from our campsites.
The McAfee family provided a yummy lunch of deli sandwiches, chips, and fruit. Then someone had the brilliant idea to give each of the kids a push-up ice cream pop after lunch. Grace wore most of hers. It was warm enough outside that the ice cream melted really quickly.
After lunch and while the younger kiddos napped, the boys went on a boat ride with Pap, Daniel, and Mackenzie.
The boat riders were ready to go!
After boat riding and Dan's yummy dinner of Chicken and Vegetables, the kids were bathed and then it was campfire time. Of course, if we have a campfire, we MUST have s'mores.
