Sharing
Gabriel thinks that it is so funny to share his food with Mom and Dad. We went to Applebees last week, and Gabriel decided to share his food with Daddy. Daddy gave Gabriel a pickle from his plate. The kiddo squeezed the pickle as hard as he could so that the juice would run out. Then he sucked on the pickle, puckered, and sucked on it again.

Back Door
It is amazing how much fun Gabriel is when he is feeling better! Last night he was in such a great mood all evening. Gabriel went to the back door to watch the dogs play in the yard. Dan sneaked out the side door so that he could get his picture while he laughed at the dogs. He was so excited to see his Daddy out the back door. He yelled, "Dada! Dada! Dadle!" We don't know where "Dadle" came from, but it was so cute!

The Verdict Is. . .
Gabriel went to the doctor yesterday. He never had an ear infection; the doctor said that his ears look perfect. The cause of his rash is exanthem virus, also known as Roseola. He was evidently sick Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday last week, but I thought he was just teething. He is feeling much better today. I am going back to work, and he will be with Mrs. Staci. I'm glad that's (pretty much) over!

Sick
Gabriel was sick this weekend. He was awake a lot of the night Friday night. At 3:00 Mommy got up with him, and he was inconsolable and so tired. After some Tylenol, he was able to sleep the rest of the night. Saturday he spent the majority of the day crying, which is not like him at all. We thought he was teething and treated him most of the day with Tylenol and Orajel. During the day he develped a rash from head to toe. Finally after his second two-hour nap of the day, Mommy took him to the Urgent Care Center to find out that he had an ear infection. We still do not know the cause of his rash. The rash started to make him itch on Sunday. Today we will go to the doctor to have his ears checked again and hopefully, find out the cause of his rash. In light of his miserable weekend, Mommy gave him one of his favorite foods for lunch Sunday --- Ravioli with meatballs. We had to go directly to the bath when lunch was over because of the tomato sauce that was everywhere. He was reaching into his hair with his saucy little hands to scratch the rash on his head. What a mess!

First Haircut
We took Gabriel to Supercuts on Charlestown Road for his first haircut this morning. He was such a good boy! He was so still for the lady who cut his hair. He smiled and talked to her. He got a little restless at the end. The lady who cut his hair said the he was the best first hair cut that she'd ever done.

Olive Garden
We went to Olive Garden for dinner on Friday. The kitchen was incredibly slow, and it took forever for our dinners to come out. You can imagine that the kiddo got quite impatient. In order to keep him happy, we gave him a whole breadstick to gnaw on. He LOVED it! He tore it into two pieces, one for each hand. Ate most of the breadstick and had a great time doing it. He wouldn't even put it down when it was time to leave, so we had to let him take the last little bit with him in order to keep him from having a meltdown.
12 Month Check-up
Gabriel went to the doctor for his 12 month check-up on Wednesday. He weighs 29 lbs. 6 oz. and is 32 inches tall. The poor kiddo had a rough week this past week. He has had a cold with congestion, runny eyes, and runny nose. He has about 4 teeth coming in, including his eye teeth. Because of the cold and teething, he hasn't been sleeping as well as usual, and then the kiddo got shots. He is better this weekend, but Wednesday was an especially pitiful day for him.
