Snuggle Bugs

Grace has made a habit of coming into our bedroom every morning lately between 4 and 5 a.m. She wants to lay in bed with me. While I love the snuggle time, Dan is annoyed with a child in our bed. . . not to mention that for such a tiny thing, she's a serious bed hog. This morning when I got out of the shower, I found Dan and Grace snuggling together. I couldn't help myself. I had to get a picture! Dan was annoyed by the light from the flash (as you can see from his face), but Grace was sleeping so soundly she had NO IDEA I'd taken her picture. I love my snuggle bugs! They're so sweet!

Momma's Helper

I was giving the refrigerator at the new house a good cleaning tonight when Grace decided to come in and help me. She grabbed these gloves off the counter top and said, "Okay, Mom, what do I do?" Funny girl! I put the gloves on her, but luckily most of the cleaning was finished.

P.S. I really wanted to title this post Future Proctologist?, but I thought better of it.

Shoe Face?

Our kids are so nuts sometimes! They love to give themselves silly super-hero-like names! They were giggling and saying their current super-hero names. When I looked in the backseat, this is what I saw.
Grace was Princess Shoe-Face.
Gabriel was Captain Shoe-Face.

They were cracking up laughing at themselves! Ha Ha!

A Boy and His Dog

One of my chores over Spring Break was to get Hershey to the vet for a follow-up appointment to see how he is doing with his heart medicine. Gabriel was my helper that day and decided to take charge of Hersh.
These two really are such good buddies. There is nothing like the relationship between a boy and his dog. They are playmates and companions. Hershey is very protective of both kids. He is such a good dog!

Community Park

We met the McAfee's this morning at Community Park for more duck feeding and some play time.
Apparently, these ducks and geese are pretty well fed because they would not come out of the water for food.
It was very windy too so a lot of our crackers and bread pieces ended up on the ground and not in the water.
The McAfee's brought crackers for the birds, and we brought a loaf of bread.
Jake ate a bite, then threw a bite to the birds, ate a bite, and threw a bite to the birds. He is such a silly kid!
This is his "What?" face because I said his name to get him to turn and look at me.
I love this picture of Grace.
Alicia and her little boy . . . it won't be long and Jake will be a big brother.
While Sam and Gabriel were on the swings, they were talking about video games. I didn't hear much of the conversation, but they were talking about video game controllers and Mario.
This is such a cute picture of Jake. He looks so big here.

This is photography by Grace and confirmation that I NEED to go have my hair cut. This pulled back in a ponytail look will not work this summer.
We ended our fun with McDonald's Happy Meals. I'm so grateful for beautiful weather, time away from work, and great friends to share it with.

Zesto's

After feeding the ducks, Grandma and Papaw treated us to ice cream at Zesto's. Gabriel really likes mint chocolate chip ice cream
Grace likes chocolate.
I don't let them get ice cream cones very often because they are SO messy, but since our next thing would be baths, I figured, "Oh well!"
Grace LOVES to get messy. She was clapping for herself when she finished her ice cream because she was such a mess.

Feeding Ducks

We headed to the Clarksville Town Hall last night to feed the ducks. We have been so busy spending time at our new house that I feel like we haven't really taken full advantage of the nice weather. This seemed like a good way to enjoy the weather and get rid of a loaf of bread that would soon be moldy.
As soon as we got out of the van, the ducks ran toward us.
They are not shy.

Some of them were a little aggressive. They wanted to take the food right out of your hand.
Gabriel is such a thoughtful boy. He was going toward the ducks that were not with the rest of the group to be sure that they were fed too. He didn't want any of the ducks to be hungry.
Before long Grandma and Papaw came to join us.
It was a good thing Grandma brought more bread for them because ours was gone.
Papaw showed Gabriel how to be really still and wait for the ducks to take the bread from your hand.
When our bread was all gone, again, this one got made at Gabriel and pecked at his fingers.
Grace was quacking at the ducks and flapping her "wings."
She was following the ducks around like she was one of them.
"Is this how they do it," she asked. Ha Ha! You're such a character, Grace!
