In Greco style, Gabriel won first for his weight class. The other kiddo in his bracket didn't show up. It didn't matter to Gabe. Just going out on the mat and having the ref raise HIS arm up in the air was all he wanted.
In Folkstyle he actually had to wrestle. Coach Kip gave him a little pep talk before he went out on the mat.
This guy from Tell City was fast!
As far as wrestling skill, I felt like Gabe and his opponent were evenly matched. The other kid was just fast, and that was all it took to win.
Once he had Gabe down, he wasn't letting Gabe get back up.
The second match went about the same, Unfortunately, there were no medals awarded to Gabe in folkstyle. In the background, you can see Miss Kelli, one of Grace's preschool teachers watching the match in the background.
